Congratulations to the players, coaches and staff of Japan’s men’s national team, the Brave Blossoms, on winning the 2026 Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup.
The title is Japan’s first Pacific Nations Cup in years, and it came the hard way: by overcoming defending champions Fiji. Beating the holders to lift a trophy leaves no doubt about who the best team in the competition was.
Back in the world’s top 10
The result has moved the needle beyond the tournament. Japan climbed three places in the World Rugby rankings to 9th overall on 77.28 points, moving ahead of Fiji and back into the global top 10.
